  Lovely hosts in Nicole and Jacques. The view from the exquisite terrace to the hilltop town of Sancerre is magnificent. Breakfast every day was a feast. Just a wonderful, heartfelt experience.

  I'm start to work with them for my summer job .for 1month  I'm new here this place I'm never yet heard this place before ..so far it was good quiet place and you see the kind of nature unlike you stay in city like in Paris,????and ma'am Nicole and  her husband is really accommodating owner for their guest coming to stay in the guest house.for me as I work with them to help some house chores I observe that they really want to satisfied the guest like breakfast and other things they are good family ,owner of this guest house..,????really amazed experience for my first time to come in outside paris city..the ambiance is really good and thehoise is good and Its amazing for me for the first time I see some guest house like this..you don't regret to stay at the place.????

  I know I will be repeating a lot of what has been written by others but... We stumbled upon this place by chance, and luck was good to us. The house is amazing, partly built in the 16th century and the other half from the 18th century. The rooms are decorated with taste, the beds are amazing. But what makes this place the best overall... The hosts.
They will treat you like royalty.

They are genuinely welcoming and friendly.
Do not hesitate into booking a stay, you won't regret it.
And if you stay... Ask a bit about family history. The owner was born in the house bought by his famous grandfather, a physicists, whose name is is still the street name.

  I had no idea what to expect since guesthouses can be all different experiences - but this completely exceeded expectations. First, Nicole the owner is one of the nicest humans I've ever met. She was so friendly and happy to have us there. We told her that we had a flight from Paris early the next morning, and she prepared an incredible breakfast early, so we could fuel up before the day. The room and house are so charming and nice, and the location is a short drive from the village of Sancerre up the hill. The area is drop-dead gorgeous and the wine is of course second-to-none. Highly recommend if you want to come to the Sancerre area.

  A beautiful home with great views from the terrace towards Sancerre, we stayed in the Mexican room, spacious, light with a large en-suite, just off the beaten track but close enough to walk up the hill to beautiful Sancerre, Breakfast was so good on both mornings, fresh fruits, yogurts, home made conserves, croissants, cheese, prosciutto, pancakes…….So good!!   A must stay! Simply AMAZING!! Gorgeous rooms, with all the comforts of home, in a historic house built by monks, started in the 16th century . The owners instantly make you feel like part of the family. Beautiful rooms, all decorated with their own unique theme. Super clean! The most wonderful breakfast!

  What a happy happenstance to have found this place. When you first drive up you might circle around and not realize where it is. Once you walk in though, it’s an oasis. The rooms are good and the service is intimate. They have a massive terrace for breakfast and apero in the evening. Their two dogs Calypso and Charly are always eager to make sure you’re comfortable too. For the location, you can’t get much better. You’ll be about 10 mins from everything in the area. You can easily drive into Pouilly Fume, Sancerre, and a few other small towns. Not sure what to do? They have great recommendations too ! Looking forward to coming back again soon.

  Beautiful gem in Sancerre. Madame Nicole is very hospitable, so are the dogs Charly and Calipso. Beautiful rooms and Great breakfast. We were offered a bottle of Sancerre wine for aperitif on the house.

Maison d'hôtes superbe bien placée et gérée par des propriétaires adorables et  serviables Le petit déjeuner servi sur une terrasse fleurie avec une vue reposante est délicieux Tous les jours un apéritif est organisé avec un Sancerre et du fromage Chavignol Un vrai moment de détente qui permet d'échanger avec les propriétaires Nicole et Jacques ainsi que de faire la connaissance des autres clients Je recommande le lieu quelle que soit la saison

The lovely photos and positive reviews from previous travelers helped us to choose this wonderful manor house for our time in Sancerre.  Initially we were concerned because of the street view - the house/castle faces a massive interior garden and is surrounded by high walls along a town lane so only once you enter the grounds do you see the views that are advertised - and what a wonderful treat it is!!!  The owners are so delightful and will do anything to make your stay memorable.  The views from the terrace where an amazing breakfast is served as well as afternoon tea or aperitif are lovely and encompass the peaceful view of hilltop Sancerre which looks down on La Chanceliere.  Everything one could want was right there - the Loire River and it's paths were a couple of blocks away, Sancerre with all its charm was on the hilltop surrounded by miles of vineyards and all the lovely walks they offered.  Wineries and  restaurants were nearby.  A morning stroll in town led to the boulangerie, fromagerie and any other type of shop you were interested in.   And the dear owners were available at a moments notice to help make your perfect stay happen.

A fantastic stay for my partners birthday. The room was gorgeous and the house beautiful. We were given a lift to and from our restaurant in Sancerre which was over and above what we expected and so lovely. A beautiful bottle of complimentary Sancerre on the terrace was a beautiful treat and the breakfast was worth the trip alone. We will stay again in a heartbeat next time we are in Sancerre. très belle demeure à Saint Satur. l'accueil est très sympathique et avenant. Notre chambre, Manosque, était joliment décorée avec une grande salle de bain. Malgré une petite fenêtre qui assombrie la chambre, la vue sur le jardin est agréable.  Seul bémol : les WC sur le palier. La table d'hôte est excellente et prise dans les salons particulier c'est encore mieux. 2 points que je me permets de noter : la présence de chiens qui peut gêner si vous êtes allergique et aucun port du masque en intérieur alors que nous pouvions être parfois plusieurs à se croiser.Sinon, c'est une étape parfaite pour un week end dans la région de Sancerre. We've been here many times, and are never disappointed.  Rooms have a quirky feel to them, spacious, idiosyncratic.  Glass of sancerre before we went off to dinner, breakfast absolutely gorgeous on the terrace with a wonderful view of Sancerre.  Love the fresh orange juice, fruit, croissants etc.  Yoghurt to die for.  I felt so happy.  Welcome as always perfect.  This is not a cheap overnight, but worth it

We booked at the last minute, after reading the reviews. We were not disappointed. Chancelière is what you expect a B and B in the wine country to be like. The proprietors were charming, friendly and welcome. Lots of nice little touches (fridge with refreshments, generous common areas) and a sweeping view onto Sancerre. This was a short trip but a very nice diversion. Can’t wait to come back, and definitely recommended to others.

From the moment Nicola collected us from the train station, we knew we were in for a treat. The room was delightful and decorated with the most amazing array of artefacts and treasures. We were invited to have wine and aperitifs on the terrace that evening. Again Nicola and Jacques were the most hospitable hosts. Nicola even drove us to nearby towns and on the last night presented me with a bottle of champagne for my birthday. The breakfast is phenomenal. Each day had a different array of crockery. We very much enjoyed our stay at Le Chanceliere.  Nicole and Jacques are wonderful hosts, as are Calypso and Charly!  The breakfasts were the best we had during our holiday.  Le Chanceliere is centrally located to visit the domains of Sancerre and Pouilly Fume.  Highly recommended!

Un accueil des propriétaires avec beaucoup de gentillesse et de courtoisie (et un verre de Sancerre bien entendu !) Très belle demeure, dans un petit écrin de verdure. Très jolie chambre avec tout le confort attendu, café, boissons, etc. Petit déjeuner copieux et varié. Nous y retournons avec beaucoup de plaisir.

Très agréable séjour
Nos hôtes ont été absolument charmants. Les chambres sont confortables et très bien décorées. Le jardin est magnifique. Le petit déjeuner est parfait. Il y a deux chiens qui sont très mignons. Bref, nous avons passé un weekend très agréable et nous comptons bien revenir un jour à la Chancelière.

Dans un cadre magnifique, très belle demeure authentique, de beaux espaces, un accueil parfait. Le PDJ en terrasse le matin est de grande qualité. Point de départ idéale pour aller visiter le vignoble Sancerrois. Juste superbe à recommander.

La maison de famille
Une imposante bâtisse qui ravira les amateurs de belles charpentes, offre de nombreuses chambres confortables et décorées avec gout. Les salons, la cuisine et la salle a manger sont a nous et le charme opère quand l' apéro maison est offert par nos hôtes. Bravo a Irène et Abrao pour leur accueil attentionné .
